Barbican Centre Popular Catering Contract

The Barbican centre is Europe's largest Arts, Conference and Exhibition Centre. It is situated in the heart of the City of London. The Centre is owned, funded and managed by the City of London Corporation.

This represents a unique opportunity for dynamic, forward thinking and innovative catering companies who are suitably qualified, experienced and resourced to provide food service for our 200 seater self-service restaurant, 76 seater table service restaurant, 2 foyer cafes and staff restaurant.

The contract is for 5 years with an estimated sales turnover value of £10.5M. Joint ventures also considered.

The contract is available in 3 slots:

1) Level G cafe, Level 1 restaurant and 2 foyer cafes (sales turnover £2.1M p.a) and staff restaurant
2) Level G cafe and 2 foyer cafes (sales turnover £1.7m p.a) and staff restaurant
3) Level 1 restaurant (sales turnover £435,000 p.a)

Tenderers will be selected on the basis of experience, financial standing, and proven track record in both food quality and quality of management for the Barbican Centre. Full timetable and details will be provided with the tender.

Applicants expressing an interest by no later than 12 noon on the 1st May 2009 will be sent a pre qualification questionnaire.
