Oxford Brookes is UK's top school for hospitality mangement, according to survey
Oxford Brookes University has been ranked as the top UK school for hospitality management in a recent survey from Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS).
The British University came eighth on the list while the top three positions went to Swiss schools: Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Glion Institute of Higher Education and Les Roches International School of Hotel Management.
The survey was aimed at hiring managers from five-star international hospitality companies around the world and was conducted in September and October 2010. The managers ranked the schools on how employable their graduates were.
David Graves, chief executive of Laureate Hospitality Art & Design Education, which commissioned the survey, said: "The results of this survey, like those of a similar survey in 2007, affirm that hiring managers at the very best hotels consider Swiss hospitality education to be the best in the world."
"The goal of top international hospitality management schools is to prepare managers to compete successfully in a rapidly changing world," said Arie van der Spek, senior vice president of Laureate Hospitality Education worldwide.
"This survey confirms that the hospitality industry understands and appreciates the unique nature of the Swiss education model, which combines practical instruction with serious academic studies."
