London restaurant 101 Pimlico Road to close

London restaurant 101 Pimlico Road is to close after just 18 months.

Co-owners Will Guess, who also runs Rowley's restaurant in London's Jermyn Street, and chef Keith Goddard have taken the decision to shut the Chelsea restaurant following poor trading. The 45-seat site has been put up for sale and 101 Pimlico Road will close on 28 May.

Guess said that it was with regret that the duo had come to the decision to close the restaurant. "However, recent trading has become too inconsistent and therefore the site is for sale," he said. "We are incredibly proud of 101 Pimlico Road and now look forward to working on new projects."

The food at 101 Pimlico Road was overseen by Goddard, a classically trained chef who studied at the French Culinary Institute in New York and has worked at Tom Aikens and with Oliver Peyton at the Wallace Collection.
