London’s first pasta restaurant has been sold back to its original owners, the Lavarini family.
The original Spaghetti House in London’s Goodge Street was first opened in 1955. It has been sold to the Lavarinis by previous owner Stefano Fraquelli for £1m.
The restaurant has also been part of the restaurant entrepreneur’s Metropolitan group, which includes Getti (St. James), Galileo’s (Haymarket) and Zia Teresa (Knightsbridge).
“My father and uncle introduced real Italian pasta when they opened their first establishment,” said Fraquelli. “This restructuring will allow me to carry on fulfilling the Fraquelli dream of bringing La Dolce Vita to this fine city.”
Fraquelli plans to use the extra capital to improve the quality of the food, wine and staff in his other restaurants.
