Hotels
Christopher and Denise Hartley have left their jobs to move to Kuwait to take up positions at the Safir Heritage Village - Failaka Island, a hotel where they have both worked previously. Christopher has left the Hunstrete House Hotel in Pensford, Somerset, where he was general manager to take up the same position at the Kuwait hotel. Denise has moved from the Whatley Manor hotel in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, where she was executive head housekeeper. She also moves into the same role.
Langham Hotels International has appointed three new senior vice presidents - Kevin Murphy, Brett Butcher and Nigel Roberts. Kevin, who was previously vice president of international operations and development, becomes senior vice president of development. Both Brett and Nigel are managing directors - Brett of the Langham Place Hotel and the Eaton Hotel in Kowloon, Hong Kong, and Nigel of the Langham Hotel, also in Kowloon. They both retain these role as well as taking on added responsibility. Brett becomes senior vice president of sales and marketing, while Nigel heads up operations.
A number of general managers from Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts have switched locations. Managing the group's first hotel in Oman, the 683-bedroom Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa in Muscat, will be Desmond Hatton. Irishman Desmond previously managed the Mactan Island Resort in Cebu, the Philippines.
Taking Desmond's place at the 547-bedroom Philippines hotel will be Timothy Wright, who was pre-opening general manager of the group's first hotel in India, the 326-bedroom Shangri-La Hotel in New Delhi. Taking over Timothy's role will be Gilbert Jung, who comes from the Shangri-La Hotel in Penang, Thailand. Gilbert's place will be taken by CV Healy, who has previously managed hotels for Shangri-La in Taiwan and China.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts has promoted Tom Conophy from senior vice president, chief technology officer to executive vice president, chief technology officer.
Restaurants
In charge of the new Wagamama in Amsterdam next to the World Trade Centre, which opens today, is Richard Wouters. Richard will continue to run the noodle bar chain's other restaurant in the city as well as the new 136-seat outlet.

Wilson Storey Halliday has welcomed Adrian Walker to its sales team as business development manager. Adrian previously worked for London caterer Capital Catering Services.
