London’s Old Spitalfields Market is to see the arrival of a string of new restaurants this summer following the completion of its multimillion-pound refurbishment programme.
Many of the new businesses will be housed within a set of glass cubes overlooking the market featuring a light show built into the fabric of their buildings.
Dubbed as the ‘Spitalfields Aurora’, the restaurants will be working light boxes, with colours shifting in accordance with the market.
Restaurant chains including Wagamama, La Tasca and Gourmet Burger Kitchen are set to launch at the east London venue later in the summer, with crepe café Crepeaffaire and pie restaurant Square Pie set to open later this month.
In July, Latin restaurant concept Las Iguanas will launch its third London outlet at the Old Spitalfields Market after sites at the O2 and the Royal Festival Hall.
