Glasgow's Kelvingrove Galleries, which reopened in July after three years and a £27m revamp, is set to overtake Edinburgh Castle as Scotland's most popular visitor attraction.
In its first fortnight after reopening, 293,000 visitors spent £102,000 in its three cafés, which seat a total of 320 and are run by Encore Creative Catering, a fully owned subsidiary of Glasgow City Council.
Its main hall seats 500 and will host a star-studded dinner in May 2007 after the final of football's UEFA Cup, which will be played at the city's Hampden Park stadium.
