John Acornley from the Midlands is the new owner of the Bottreaux hotel and restaurant in the North Cornish village of Boscastle.
The 200-year old building, which is near the original site of the Norman Bottreaux Castle, has a prominent position in the village which centres around an Elizabethan harbour and is close to ‘King Arthur’ landmarks such as Tintagel.
The hotel offers eight luxury en-suite bedrooms with ocean and valley views, a 32-seat restaurant with two AA rosettes, a residents’ lounge and a self-contained apartment.
The property will be managed by chef Keith Robins and his partner, Anna Whitsted.
The Exeter office of Christie + Co sold the property on behalf of Alan and Carlotta Cooper.
