Lutyens will make your day, says critic

Sir Terence Conran’s latest London restaurant venture Lutyens, with its fine food and exemplary service, will make your day, according to the Metro.

The restaurant, housed in the former Reuters building on Fleet Street, brings back all that was great about Le Pont de la Tour in the 1990s, says food critic Andy Lynes.

“We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome or valued. And when the maître d' thanked us for coming, we believed he really meant it,” he says.

The Evening Standard’s David Sexton, meanwhile, is underwhelmed by new opening Lower East in Canary Wharf, which is supposedly inspired by the neighbourhood restaurants of Manhattan.

Time Out’s Charmaine Mok enjoys cheap, delicious and fast food at Lebanese café Yalla Yalla in Soho.
