West One Bar & Restaurant

Property agent Christie & Co has sold the West One Bar & Restaurant in the affluent village of Hagley, Worcestershire, within a month of putting it on the market.

Its Birmingham office sold the freehold for close to the asking price of £995,000 on behalf of Chris Massey, who has owned the restaurant for four years.

The bistro-style bar and restaurant, which is located on the village’s high street, comprises a ground floor bar, a 78-seat first floor restaurant and an outside patio that will seat another 70 people.

The new owner is James Lai of Minhs Restaurants, a regional restaurant operator based in Wolvehampton.

Minhs is converting the property into its second Square Orange restaurant. Like the first Square Orange in Stafford, the Hagley restaurant offers a mix of world cuisines including English, Italian, Chinese, Indian and Thai.

The group also runs two pub-restaurants offering a similar multi-cuisine choice.
