Event caterer Jackson Gilmour has secured a spot on the British Museum approved caterers list.

The Croydon-based caterer will begin working at the British Museum from January, following a competitive and extensive selection process that involved a number of tasting sessions and presentations.

Clare Tomlinson, head of events at the Museum, said: "We were impressed by the overall presentation and proficiency of the Jackson Gilmour team, as well as its commitment to environmental issues and responsible food sourcing."

Jackson Gilmour's marketing director, Anne Aitken, said that one of the advantages of a venue such as the British Museum was that the exhibitions were constantly changing.

The Museum's Grade I-listed public galleries are used as event spaces, complemented by a suite of contemporary conference facilities designed by Lord Foster.
