Greene King is offering its lessees, tenants and employees the opportunity to ease the January blues with a £2,000 reward for information about new sites.
The pub group, via its leased division Pub Partners, is offering a finder’s fee for any tip-off that leads to a freehouse purchase.
Sue Thomas-Taylor, commercial director for Pub Partners, said: “We’re keen to find out from any of our lessees, tenants or employees if they have heard of any landlords moving or rumours of freehold pubs going on the market.
“We’re looking to expand our estate of 2,500 pubs and what better way to do it than through personal recommendation.”
In October last year, budget hotel chain Travelodge began offering a £25m bounty to the public to help drive its ambitious expansion plan across the UK. To date, it has received around 1,000 recommendations for sites.
