Friday Wrap: A round-up of the week's hospitality news

What do an urn of ashes, a pet Persian cat called Princess, a blue glass eye and a six foot by six foot remote controlled helicopter have in common?

No, it’s not that they’re all available to buy on Ebay but instead that they are all items left behind by absent minded Travelodge customers last year.

Who knows, maybe you’re one of the Travelodge punters that inexplicably left their false teeth behind, but if not you could well be ready to join the masses and tuck into your favourite fast food this year as part of our growing appetite for the stuff.

Alternatively, enter our competition to win a meal for two at Michelin awarded Locanda Locatelli in London courtesy of Italian beer brand Peroni.

Having had a period of grace it was the turn of two of the capital’s high-profile restaurant launches last year – Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester and Texture - to receive a kicking from the restaurant critics and a decent boot they got.

Kitchen Nightmares “success story” Momma Cherri’s in Brighton has gone into administration despite Gordon Ramsay’s best efforts and Ramsay protégée Angela Hartnett has called on more female chefs to compete.

Compass Group has this month expanded its Junior Chef Academy to encompass the front of house as seafood chef Mitchell Tonks of FishWorks fame bought himself an eaterie in Devon.

I’ll leave you with the Yorkshire Tourist Board's ill advised attempt to create images of the most friendly male and female faces in the UK.

Don’t have nightmares, do sleep well.
