Sharpen up your knives

Rather than send knives away to be sharpened, chefs can do it themselves with the Nirey KE280 electric knife sharpener. The machine features abrasive belts and a patented cushioned contact system that produces a polished finish as the blade is sharpened. No special training is required to use the sharpener. The belts last for about six months, and replacements, which can be supplied within 48 hours, cost £3.63.
