Aramark managing director of business and industry, Dean Lindsay, has been seriously injured in a road accident.

Lindsay, who was promoted to his role last October after the departure of Simon Titchner, was involved in a road traffic accident at the weekend when the motorbike he was riding was in collision with a car.

Lindsay, who lost his lower left leg in the incident, remains in intensive care at Chesterfield Royal Hospital where he is stable but in a high dependency ward following surgery.

UK chief executive Andrew Main and the staff at Aramark offered their deepest sympathies to Dean, Ann and his three children and wished him a speedy recovery.

Main said: "I will personally miss his high energy and strong and sharply focused leadership. We very much look forward to the day when we can welcome him back to the business."
