Thomas Franks, the caterer set up by former Avenance directors Tom Barrett and Frank Bothwell in 2004, has reached a milestone with the signing of its 30th contract.
The company has won the catering deal at sugar manufacturer Tate & Lyle in London’s Docklands, on a one-year rolling contract.
The contract, previously run by Sodexo, sits alongside contracts in the capital at General Mills, Neopost and the Royal School.
Frank Bothwell, managing director of Thomas Franks which markets itself as part of the new breed of caterers which do not take supplier discounts, said: “While it has always been our ambition to break into the highly competitive London market, we’ve taken a measured approach to establishing our brand and what has become a very special service offer that revolves around local, organic and Fairtrade produce.”
The contract caterer has also recently won a three-year deal at Sibford School in Oxfordshire, previously run by Elior’s Avenance, and a one-year deal at logistics firm Wincanton.
The three deals add more than £1m in turnover to the caterer’s books taking its annual turnover to £6m.
Tom Barrett left the business in 2005 around the time it won its first contract to caterer at the National Army Museum in London.
