La Tasca has continued its assault on the UK casual dining market with a strong set of results in 2006.
In the 12 months to 30 April, turnover at the 64-strong group rose 18.5% to £10m, while pre-tax profit soared by 55.3% to £6.1m.
The group also opened 14 new restaurants, taking its total to 57 La Tascas (three in the USA), six La Viñas and one Sam and Maxie’s.
Next year, it is aiming for 14 more openings, including the second and third Sam and Maxie’s sites – in Manchester’s Trafford Centre and in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, respectively.
Chief executive James Horler said: “This has been an excellent year for the company in which we have progressed across a number of different fronts. We have further developed La Viña and are excited about the prospects for this brand which we intend to expand.”
