Taylor Shaw wins £600,000 contract at Shropshire school

Taylor Shaw has won a three-year deal to provide catering services at a Shropshire school worth £600,000.

The specialist education caterer was awarded the deal at Bridgnorth Endowed School after tailoring its bid in response to feedback from students. A new coffee shop exclusively for the school's sixth form, a hot sandwich and wraps bar, greater choice and speedier service were on the wishlist.

Jim Lovett, managing director of Taylor Shaw, said: "We always seek the chance to listen to students to find out what they want whenever we plan new services, but in this case, they actually presented their ideas to us first."

Head teacher Phil Loveday added: "With 1,000 students on site every day, they are the ones who are going to be the customers for any new catering facilities, so it only seemed fair to involve them in the selection process."
