Lindley Venue Catering wins rolling contract with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats rugby league club

Lindley Venue Catering has scored new business with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats ahead of the rugby league club's move to a new stadium in 2015.

Lindley takes over all match-day and non-match-day services, previously managed in-house, with immediate effect as part of the Wildcats' efforts to develop its catering and hospitality business at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

The rolling contract is expected to generate an annual turnover in excess of £400,000 at the 10,250-capacity ground, which is equipped with five function rooms that can accommodate 50-200 guests.

James Elston, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' chief executive, said the club had been looking at further opportunities to grow and develop the club. "We feel that the club could benefit from the experience and expertise of a specialist sports caterer," he added.

"We've been very impressed with the results Lindley has achieved at other rugby league grounds - including Warrington Wolves and the John Smith's Stadium in Huddersfield - and they are also attuned to the needs of the locality."

Elston said there would be more emphasis on locally-sourced seasonal produce with DeliciouslYorkshire accreditation as a result of the appointment.

Jonathan Davies, Lindley's sales and marketing director, said new kiosks would be installed in time for the new season that would speed up service and sell the caterer's pies, hotdogs and burgers.

Lindley will also look to promote the venue locally for non-match-day use.

Wakefield Wildcats are expected to relocate to a new 12,000-capacity community stadium in 2015.
