Hotelier Stephen Korany, renowned for his 42 years of service at the Basil Street Hotel, died on 22 October after a prolonged illness.
Korany was appointed general manager of the Basil in 1953 and retired in 1995. He was the youngest-ever manager to take the post and the longest serving.
Korany was a graduate of the Ecole HoteliŠre de Nice. He was assistant general manager of the Selsdon Park Hotel before the Basil.
