Pub operator Whiting and Hammond has acquired the lease on Stanmer House in Brighton, a Grade I-listed manor house, taking the company to a total of seven sites.
Whiting and Hammond will take on a new 21-year lease at a nil premium. The property was extensively refurbished recently and has been used as a wedding and corporate events venue since 2006.
Brian Whiting, co-founder of Whiting and Hammond, said: "We are extremely excited about securing our seventh site and there is no doubt that the building has a massive wow factor. We are confident that the people in and around Brighton will be overwhelmed when they see the house up and running at the beginning of December. The house will be open all day every day from morning coffee through to evening dinner with our award-winning offer."
The building's owner, Mike Holland, commented: "I am delighted that Whiting and Hammond have taken the lease of this fabulous property which I have lovingly restored and I wish them great success."
The deal was handled by the Fleurets southern office.
