London restaurant Bombay Brasserie reopens today after a five-month refurbishment programme.

The Kensington Indian eaterie, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2007, shut in August for a major redesign overseen by Hong Kong design consultancy Chhada Siembieda & Associates.

The restaurant’s new look offers the original Bombay Colonial feel with contemporary elements.

Interiors include a new bar area as well as an open show kitchen with seating in the middle of the restaurant.

Bombay Brasserie also appointed the Taj Group of Hotels’ executive chef Hemant Oberoi to overhaul its menus.

Offering a pan-Indian menu, new signature dishes include lamb kebabs on sugarcane candies and paperwali machchi - fish fillets enveloped in parchment paper.

Bombay Brasserie director of operations Arun Harnal said the restaurant was delighted to reopen its doors.

“We are confident that what we have achieved will please our regulars and new visitors alike and mark the start of another 25 glorious years,” he said.
