Celebrity chef Paul Heathcote is the latest signing for Lancashire County Cricket Club (LCCC) where he joins as catering consultant for the in-house catering team at Old Trafford cricket ground.

Lancashire-born Heathcote and his management team at Heathcotes Outside will work closely with the LCCC team to create and develop the catering offerings for The Point, the new £12m conference and events facility scheduled to open in July.

Geoff Durbin, LCCC’s commercial director said: “We have always focused on providing the very highest standards of food and service for our customers.

“The Lancashire catering team have an excellent reputation and the addition of Paul in an advisory capacity will bring another dimension to the team and which will guarantee a winning combination.”

Heathcote said he was delighted that he and his team would have the opportunity to work closely with LCCC. He added: “Anybody who has had the chance to look at this new world-class venue can only be nothing but impressed.

“I am confident that we can help and support the existing team to help fulfil its ambitions, however I won’t be available on Wednesdays in the summer unless I am dropped by my local village cricket team!”

In addition to his focus on The Point, a purpose-built facility which will be able to accommodate a conference or a formal dinner for up to 1,000 people, Heathcote will also be involved in other aspects of the catering operation.
