Innovate Services renews contract with Cox Green School in Maidenhead for five more years

Education caterer Innovate Services has renewed its contract with Cox Green School in Maidenhead, in a deal worth in excess of £650,000.

The school was the first of the company's education clients to take Innovate's restaurant-style catering model on board after the business launched, and has extended its relationship with the caterer for an additional five years following excellent take-up from pupils and parental support for its biometric cashless system.

This maintains Innovate's contract renewal rate, with 10 consecutive client renewals being confirmed since it launched almost five years ago.

Gill Newman, the school's business manager, said: "Prior to Innovate, it was a very traditional service that hadn't changed for many years and as a result had very poor uptake.

"But now a good proportion of our students are enjoying school meals each week and they really like the choice and the informal concept."

Derick Martin, co-founder and chief executive of Innovate Services, added: "The results at Cox Green School have been impressive: the transformation of the food menus, physical dining space and EPoS service has made a real impact and this is clearly demonstrated by a 36% increase in the number of transactions, if we compare a period in February 2012 to the same period in 2011.

"And we are very proud that we continue to maintain our contract renewal rate with 10 consecutive renewals, which is a significant achievement and really illustrates just how our innovative approach to school catering is being welcomed in schools across the UK."

Cox Green was one of the first schools to use biometric technology, providing a cashless payment system that allows pre-registered staff and students to take meals that are paid for with a swipe of the finger.
