Caterer launched its campaign to Stub out Smoking in the workplace two months ago because we believe the health of hospitality workers needs to be safeguarded against the harmful effects of passive smoking.

Our campaign was launched following an exclusive survey, which polled more than 1,000 readers, and showed that an overwhelming 95% of respondents thought that working in a smoky atmosphere damaged their health. A further 87% said they would choose to work in a smoke-free environment if possible.

Caterer's poll also sent out an important message to employers as nearly three-quarters (73%) of respondents said a company's anti-smoking policy made them a more attractive employer. And more than half of those polled (57%) had noticed side-effects from inhaling other people's smoke at work.

Our petition to lobby Government to Stub out Smoking in the workplace has received a fantastic response with more than 1,000 replies supporting our stance. If you want to back our campaign, sign our petition or send it online through our website www.caterer-online.com.
