Returning military personnel can stay at De Vere Venues for just £1 a night

De Vere Venues has launched a new "Welcome Home for Heroes" initiative, which offers the British military forces the chance to stay in one of its 25 participating properties for just £1 per room per night.

The offer, open to all military personnel returning from an operational tour of duty, is also available to Unit Rear Party personnel, who support families while their loved ones are away, and bereaved families.

In addition, Casualty Notifying Officers and Visiting officers, who support those families who have lost loved ones in the line of duty, will also be eligible.

Tony Dangerfield, chief executive of De Vere Venues, said: "We estimate that there will be in the region of 20,000 military personnel returning from duty to the UK over the coming year. By extending this offer to the families of our returning heroes, this initiative truly reflects our commitment and support for our armed forces."

The participating venues include Wychwood Park near Crewe, Barony Castle near Edinburgh and Wokefield Park in Berkshire.
