US organic fast food chain Chipotle is planning to open 200 sites in London and the UK.
The company is reported to have hired property agent Michael Pedder & Co to search for suitable locations, according to the Independent.
The company currently has just one site in the UK, in London's Charing Cross Road, and has signed up for a second in Baker Street. It has 1,100 sites in the US and Canada.
Last month, Chipotle's UK managing director Jacob Sumner told Caterer and Hotelkeeper the company was keen to expand in the UK but was being held back by a shortage of suitable sites.
"We can only go for A3 (units with planning permission for restaurant usage) because we need kitchens. It's a very big hurdle. The landlords are saying 'no' and the Government is saying 'no' to us," he said.
