Liverpool’s long mooted Beatles hotel has taken another step towards completion with the release of images of how the £17m development will look.

Hard Day’s Night Hotel is being built in a Grade-two listed building in the city, which dates back to 1884.

It will have 110 bedrooms, including two penthouse suites with panoramic views across the city and three private rooms.

Two restaurants, bar, lounge souvenir shop and gallery will also be housed in the six storey building.

The privately-owned hotel, based on the corner of Mathew Street and adjacent to the Cavern Club where the pop group first appeared, will be four-star property containing more than 110 pieces of original artwork telling the Beatles’ story.

It is due to open in the autumn next year and is being developed by Bowdena.
