Pizza chain Rossopomodoro expands to Birmingham
London-based pizza chain Rossopomodoro has opened its first outlet outside the capital, with the launch of a concession in the food hall of Selfridges Birmingham.
Rossopomodoro, the largest pizza brand in Italy, which runs three restaurants in London, has opened a 60-seat restaurant in the department store serving a selection of artisan pizzas and pasta dishes using ingredients sourced from around Naples.
The Birmingham opening comes as part of the company's expansion plans in the UK, Italy and the USA, following investment by private equity firm Change Capital Partners LLP.
Rossopomodoro's UK head of marketing, Mario Romano, said: "Birmingham is an extraordinary city with many diverse cultures and a very exciting food scene. Add to that the fact that our new restaurant will be within Selfridges, the city's most prestigious store, and we have found our perfect home outside London."
Ewan Venters, food and restaurants director at Selfridges, added: "We know Birmingham has an appetite for really great food experiences and a wood-burning pizza oven is certain to satisfy this appetite. I am sure that Rossopomodoro's first outlet outside of London will rapidly build a reputation for the best pizza in the West Midlands."
