Wolseley restaurant sales top £10m

The Wolseley in Piccadilly has posted sales in excess of £10m for the past year and become one of London’s top grossing restaurants.

Figures obtained by London’s Evening Standard from the accounts of parent company Rex Restaurant Associates show that turnover rose by 8% at the West End Parisian brasserie to £10.28m for the year ending March 2007.

The restaurant, which was founded by former Ivy proprietors Chris Corbin and Jeremy King, produced a profit of £689,727 for the same period.

The figures do not enjoy the pair’s latest venture, St Alban in Rex House, London.

By comparison Caprice Holdings, which owns Corbin and King’s past venture The Ivy, had revenues of £22.5m from its eight restaurants last year.
