Westminster Kingsway College to offer Higher Apprenticeship in Hospitality Management

Westminster Kingsway College is to offer the new Higher Apprenticeship in Hospitality Management. It will be the first Institute of Hospitality approved centre in the country to offer the 18-month training course.

The course is aimed at junior managers in the hospitality industry seeking to progress into senior management roles.

John Cunningham, director of professional development at the Institute of Hospitality, said: "Apprenticeships like this provide a great blend of training in the knowledge, skills and experience needed to manage effectively in the workplace. We know we have a shortage of highly skilled professional managers and this Higher Apprenticeship is a ground-breaking way to develop the managers that we desperately need."

The Higher Apprenticeship provides includes:

•NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Hospitality Management - a competency based qualification with workplace assessment.
•Functional skills at Level 2 - Maths, English and ICT.
The course fees for the Higher Apprenticeship in Hospitality Management are £2,800 per person, including registration with the Institute of Hospitality and exam fees.
