Octagonal ice

The EC40 ice machine from Manitowoc - the latest addition to its octagonal ice cube maker line - is designed to fit into tight spaces. Locating the air intake and exhaust at the front of the machine allows it to squeeze into a 800mm x 550mm area while the storage bin's up-and-over cover mechanism provides easy access to the ice without taking up extra room.

The machine's horizontal spray evaporator produces 19g crystal-clear octagonal ice cubes that do not clump and melt slowly in the glass. The EC40 can produce up to 36kg of ice every 24 hours and store up to 25kg, and is also available in an alternative version generating larger, 34g cubes. It features a stylish moulded front and internal rounded corners to facilitate cleaning. The full EC octagonal range yield quantities between 18kg and 80kg per day.
