Pillow Protector Ag 1930

Pillow Protector Ag 1930 is a bug-busting liner to protect hotel pillows from bacterial build-up that is interwoven with a pure silver yarn called X-STATIC. The silver ions will kill 99.9% of bacteria stemming from saliva and perspiration within one hour and, unlike chemically-treated fabrics, will not wash or rub out.

The technology was first developed in the USA to create anti-bacterial wound dressings for soldiers. The fabric, comprising 98% polyester and 2% X-STATIC, is now made under licence in the UK by newly launched Agenta in Manchester in association with Toray Textiles.

The pillow liner, which is covered by a conventional pillowcase, comes in a standard 500mm x 700mm size and is certified safe from harmful substances by Oeko-Tex Standard 100.
