Marriott is offering customers triple air miles on

Hotel guests are being enticed by increasingly generous loyalty programmes from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Marriott Hotels.

Starwood’s loyalty programme, Starwood Preferred Guest, has a new More Nights=More Rewards promotion that rewards all stays with double, triple and quadruple Starpoints, based on the number of nights stayed.

Members will earn the reward for every night of their stay so, for example, a three-night stay rewards members triple Starpoints on all three nights.

The promotion is available for stays between 5 January and 15 April 2010 at more than 850 participating properties worldwide and include all of Starwood’s nine brands – St Regis, The Luxury Collection, W, Westin, Le Meridien, Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton, Aloft and Element.  There is no limit to the amount of Starpoints travellers can earn during the period.

Current and new members of Starwood Preferred Guest can find out more about the programme by registering at www.spg.com/morerewards.

Meanwhile, Marriott Rewards’ MegaMiles promotion is giving away triple air miles on a choice of more than two dozen airline frequent flier programmes, beginning with their second stay from 1 February to 30 April 2010.

For instance, a member who would normally earn 400 miles for a stay, will earn 1,200 miles for the same stay with MegaMiles.
Participating airlines include British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa and United Airlines.

Further details about the programme, which involves 3,100 participating Marriott hotels in 68 countries, can be found at www.MarriottRewards.com/MegaMiles.

Foraging – why all the attention?

Using foraged ingredients is nothing new but the trend has become more mainstream over the past two years. However, the wider use of foraged food in restaurants also carries a certain amount of danger.
