Béchamel with Butter Sauce

Ingredients manufacturer Macphie has launched an improved version of its Béchamel with Butter Sauce to meet growing demand for "cleaner" labels.

The smooth and creamy sauce, available in a one-litre pack yielding 8 x 120g servings, contains no MSG or artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, meets FSA salt-reduction requirements with less than 3g of salt per 100g and is suitable for vegetarians.

Unlike powders and pastes, the microwaveable, bain-marie and freeze-thaw stable sauce requires no preparation and its tolerance of a wide range of added ingredients means that it will not split, lump or curdle when heated. It provides chefs with an instant neutral base for a wide range of dishes such as lasagne, cauliflower cheese, peppercorn sauce, pie fillings, pasta sauces and stroganoffs.

Call Macphie on 0800 085 9800 to snap up a free one-litre sample with recipe ideas while stocks last.
