Amadeus, the outside event catering arm of the NEC Group, has revealed plans to double the size of its operation during the next three years.

The caterer, which offers both private and public catering, has relaunched with a new look and stand-alone website after ten years of trading.

Originally conceived as a way of sweating the NEC’s £30m catering assets in slow periods, long-term clients include the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond in June and the newly won Lawn Tennis Association’s Nottingham Open tournament, also in June.

Amadeus currently has seven temporary site contracts and turns over £900,000 with plans to reach £1.3m this year and £2m within three years, although more fixed site locations may also be added.

Additionally it runs catering at Birmingham’s Repertory Theatre, which brings in another £1.1m a year, and is a preferred supplier for Warwickshire’s historic Stoneleigh Abbey.

Sally Davis, managing director of group catering at the NEC, said: “There’s definitely business for us out there but we intend to make sure we don’t compromise our high standards and work with partners that share a commitment to quality.”
