A round-up of the latest news from the contract catering sector…

Eurest scores a double in Wales

Business and industry caterer Eurest has renewed two of its contracts in Wales. The group will continue to cater for 850 staff at the Pontypool offices of car part manufacturers TRW Automotive for another year. The contract will turn over £223,000. Eurest has also renewed a five-year contract with environmental health and safety group National Britannia. The £142,000-a-year deal will see Eurest feeding 300 people at offices in Caerphilly.

Sodexho gets in training with Richmond college

Sodexho has teamed up with Richmond-upon-Thames College to develop a programme that sees five students and six Sodexho chefs team up for six months. With the chefs, students will have lessons on specialist skills and learn about subjects including food hygiene, health & safety and team building. The scheme finishes in June, when students will work with celebrity chef Paul Rankin to produce a gourmet dinner for parents, Sodexho clients and Sodexho and college staff.

Still good to talk for Eurest
Eurest has extended its contract with telecommunications giant BT to continue providing catering services to more than 80,000 BT staff. The new, seven-year contract, with an option for a further three years, has an annual turnover of £25m.
