Byron to open 14th site

Hamburger restaurant chain Byron is to open its 14th site, Byron London, at 11 Haymarket later this month.

The 130-cover outlet's design, by Clare Nash and Michaelis Boyd Associates, is expected to take its cue from "all that is best about modern and traditional London".

As with other Byron outlets, the menu will offer just three choices of hamburger; classic at £6.50; with cheese at £7.50; or the Byron with bacon and cheese £8.75.

However the company will also run a special hamburger to celebrate the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Royale with Cheese. The double cheeseburger featuring Montgomery Cheddar will be available in all restaurants within the Gondola-owned group from 15 April to 2 May at a cost of £10.75.

Byron founder Tom Byng (pictured) said: "Haymarket is one of London's grandest streets and also a popular tourist destination. We felt there to be an opportunity to design a proper London restaurant which provides locals and tourists alike with a quintessential London experience."

The Haymarket site will open on 15 April.
