Innkeeper's Lodge: smoking no-no

The 75-strong chain started phasing out smoking in 2001 but has now taken the decision to ban smoking company-wide.

The survey among Innkeeper Lodge's customers found that 89% of respondents supported prohibition of smoking in hotels. All of them believed that smoking rooms will eventually be removed from all UK hotels.

A spokesman for the company said: "Over two-thirds of smokers said they wouldn't be put off a hotel just because it didn't offer them a smoking room, and almost half of smokers revealed that they wouldn't smoke in their room anyway."
