FishWorks ditches Harvey Nichols to concentrate on its growing restaurant business

Thursday 06 July 2006 16:32

Restaurant group FishWorks is to quit its concession at the Harvey Nichols department store in London’s Knightsbridge.

The company said it wanted to focus instead on its rapidly growing core business of fish restaurants.

Roy Morris, FishWorks executive chairman, said: “Our association with Harvey Nichols has significantly helped enhance the Fishworks brand. We will be working with them to ensure the smoothest possible transition back into their own operations.”

FishWorks has also signed contracts on a twelfth restaurant site in the capital’s Westbourne Grove, Notting Hill.

The new Westbourne Grove restaurant will be 65 covers, with fishmonger and cookery school on site.  It is due to open in early September.

In June 2005 the company’s move from OFEX to the Alternative Investment Market raised £3.8m net of expenses to fund expansion. It has set itself a target of having 19 restaurants by 31 July 2008.
