Paul and Claire Murray from Harrogate are the new owners of the award-winning Trewithien restaurant in Lostwithiel, Cornwall.
Lostwithiel is an ancient stannary town (where the old Cornish parliaments and courts were located) that is set in the heart of the Fowey Valley, five miles from Fowey, the Eden Project and Bodmin Moor.
The restaurant is a regular finalist in the Cornish Restaurant of the Year awards and has won several Les Routiers awards
The three-storey period property offers two cottage-style dining areas that can seat 28 people, with an al fresco dining area to the rear.
It also includes a spacious four- or five-bedroom owners’ accommodation.
The Exeter office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £425,000, (reduced from £510,000) on behalf of Brian and Lorraine Rolls, who are retiring to Australia after running the restaurant for 26 years.
