North Yorkshire’s Dower House hotel has been sold off an asking price of £2.45m.
The three-star townhouse hotel is located in the market town of Knaresborough which sits on a rocky promontory above the River Nidd.
It’s just four miles from Junction 47 of the A1 motorway, providing easy access to local attractions such as theYorkshire Dales, the North York Moors National Park, York and Harrogate
The 15th century brick property, which trades under the Best Western brand, has 31 en-suite bedrooms (including two four-poster beds), the 100-seat Restaurant 48, a 35-seat lounge bar, and a lounge with an open fire and seating for 10 people.
Other facilities include the Nidderdale and Swaledale meeting and conference rooms, which can hold up to 60 and 20 people respectively.
The hotel has three rooms licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and a leisure club – the Corniche – for up to 750 members. Facilities include a gym, heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and bar lounge
Dower House was sold through the Leeds office of Christie + Co to local buyer Martin Wicks, who has a background in the hotel and pub sector.
