Alec Maxfield joins the Swan at Felsted as head chef

The Swan at Felsted has taken on Alec Maxfield as its new head chef.

Having trained under chef John Dicken at the White Hart at Great Yeldham, Maxfield will be taking over the Swan's kitchens with immediate effect.

He has previously worked at Heston Blumenthal's three-Michelin-starred Fat Duck at Bray and Hambleton Hall on Rutland Water, as well as working as head chef at the George at Cavendish.
