Chef Marcus McGuinness, 24, and head waiter Leah Fellstad, 25, have been named Young Chef 2005 and Young Waiter 2005, respectively.
McGuinness, second chef at two-Michelin-starred restaurant Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham, and Fellstad, from London's Rhodes Twenty Four, both receive 2,000 and a week's study trip to Barbados.
The awards were announced at the House of Commons on Monday night following a cook-and-serve competition held at Westminster Kingsway College during the day.
The competition, now in its 21st year, is organised by the Restaurant Association and Springboard in partnership with American Express and the Savoy Educational Trust. It is open to professional chefs and waiters aged 25 and under.
