Grant Arms hotel

Norfolk-based BWWC, a company offering specialist holiday packages, is the new owner of the Grant Arms hotel in the popular Highland tourist, holiday and sporting town of Grantown on Spey.

The purpose-built hotel overlooks the main square in the town, which lies in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park.

It offers 54 en-suite bedrooms to sleep 108 guests, while another five twin en-suite bedrooms used for staff accommodation could be converted to letting rooms.

Public rooms include a ground floor L-shaped lounge-bar with a dance floor and raised dais and a 110-seat L-shaped dining room with an open fireplace with timber surround.

There is scope to develop the food and beverage trade along with a large, currently unused, function room for weddings, dinners and conferences.

The property includes a top-floor two-bedroom owners’ flat along with a one-bedroom flat for the manager.

The new owners flat to refurbish the hotel over the winter before reopening in the spring.

The Edinburgh office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off an asking price of £1.3m on behalf of Mumin Acar and his wife.
