Carrick Lodge guest house

Carrick Lodge, a three-star guest house on the Isle of Arran, has been bought by Donald McKelvie.

It occupies a red sandstone building in Brodick that was constructed in 1895 as a free church manse and retains a number of period details such as crow-stepped gable walls and stained glass windows.

The hotel stands within large grounds in an elevated position overlooking Brodick Harbour, Goatfell, the Clyde Estuary and the Ayrshire coast.

It provides six bedrooms to sleep 12 guests including one family room, five en-suite rooms, and a room with private off-suite bathroom facilities.

Along with a dining room and a residents’ lounge with a large bay window, the business comes complete with a family-sized house to the rear that contains two double bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, a dining room and a sun lounge.

The Glasgow office of Colliers Robert Barry sold the freehold off an asking price of £450,000
