James House hotel

The James House hotel in London’s Belgravia district has been sold off an asking price of £875,000.

The Grade II-listed townhouse hotel in Ebury Street, which dates back to 1880, currently offers nine bedrooms (three en-suite) along with a 20-seat breakfast conservatory room.

However, the new owners have applied for planning permission to add up to 19 more bedrooms.

Some of the extra space would come from the current owners’ accommodation within the mid-terrace, four-storey property, which includes two double en-suite bedrooms, two single bedrooms, a lounge and a kitchen.

The private investors who have acquired the hotel plan to run it for another six months before closing it for a major refurbishment.

The London office of Christie + Co handled the sale of the freehold on behalf of Sharon and Derek James.
