Smith Travel Research launches new global hotel benchmarking service

Smith Travel Research (STR) has launched a new global hotel benchmarking service in association with Deloitte’s HotelBenchmark.

STR Global has more than 36,000 hotels in 369 markets and 94 countries in membership providing hotel data.

In 2006 STR joined forces with UK hotel data provider The Bench and as part of the new tie-up The Bench and HotelBenchmark names are expected to be phased out.

Randell Smith, co founder and chairman of STR, said: “We’re excited to be joining forces with well-respected organisations and the combined effort will allow the global hotel industry to enhance its position as a worldwide economic force.”
