Independent contract caterer Charlton House has retained its contract with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), the UK’s independent specialist aviation regulator.

The contract, which has been renewed for a further four years, is worth £650,000 in turnover a year to Charlton House. In return it provides catering services for 900 staff across two sites, one in Gatwick and another in central London.

The caterer has held the contract since 1999, making it the third longest-standing deal in its portfolio.

Tim Jones, chairman and co-founder of Charlton House, said: “Business-retention is vital, especially in this current economic climate. Good news such as this not only boosts staff morale, but it reminds us all why we are in this business and why we must work hard to retain our standards.”

Charlton House recently won the contract to feed staff at bookmaker Ladbrokes in a deal worth £675,000 in total turnover.

Charlton House is in charge of catering for 1,000 Ladbrokes employees and hospitality services at the company’s corporate headquarters in Harrow, Greater London.

  • Separately, ESS Support Services Worldwide has retained its contract with Kent Police Authority, following a competitive tender.

The five-year contract is worth £4.5m to the Compass subsidiary, and will see the caterer provide staff catering across seven sites, as well as at planned offsite events, such as festivals, and unplanned offsite events, such as murder investigations.
