Hotel Indigo launches second venue in London
The second Hotel Indigo - the new boutique hotel brand from InterContinental Hotels (IHG) - has opened in London today.
Located near the Tower of London, Hotel Indigo London Tower Hill has 44 bedrooms, two suites, a bar and two restaurants. There are now 34 Indigo hotels worldwide, with 53 in development including four new properties in the UK. The first UK Indigo opened in Paddington in January 2009.
According to Kirk Kinsell, IHG's president for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hotel Indigo is already proving to be a winning formula.
"The success of the brand lies with the fact that it offers guests the best of both worlds - the individuality and unique design you get at a boutique hotel with the reassurance and benefits of booking with a big hotel group," he said.
With each hotel having a unique character, IHG says brand standards don't dictate the number or size of rooms, making it ideally suited to conversion properties. Hotel Indigo London Tower Hill is situated in a former office building owned by the Thai Square Group.
"Our location close to the historic Tower Bridge and Tower of London, but also moments from London's financial centre makes the hotel an ideal base for tourists and business people," said Haim Danous, managing director, Thai Square Group.
The 56-bedroom Hotel Indigo Glasgow and 151-bedroom Hotel Indigo Liverpool are both scheduled to open in spring 2011.
